hello, I’m Luke 👋
I’m Head of Fandom at BBC Studios, leading the digital team behind award-winning campaigns and running the channels all year round for some of the BBC’s biggest brands — including Doctor Who, BBC Earth, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Hey Duggee and BBC Playback. Over the last decade, I’ve held multiple digital roles at BBC Studios, shaping channel strategy, overseeing editorial output, and creating content that reaches millions worldwide, working across multiple titles such as Sherlock, EastEnders and Top Gear.
I’ve spent plenty of time in front of the camera, presenting online series like Doctor Who: The Fan Show, Sherlock Reacts, location videos for Londonist, and covering live events for BBC Studios.
Outside of the BBC, I’m co-founder and performer with The RH Experience, a 5* improvised comedy group performing together for over 16 years. We host a monthly sold-out night, RH & Friends, and have played venues including the Soho Theatre, Leicester Square Theatre, Brighton Komedia, Alexandra Palace and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Our YouTube channel has over a million views and won Google’s YouTube NextUp prize, and we’ve also brought our improvisation skills into workshops and creative projects for brands such as ASOS, Uber, Google, Microsoft and BlackBerry.
I also created Doing the Thing, a podcast about unravelling social anxiety - something I continue to think about far more than is probably necessary.
I also create social content independently, experimenting with storytelling and keeping myself engaged creatively. Most recently, I’ve been making TikTok videos about a subject close to my heart, sleeper trains! After sharing annual videos of my journeys to Cornwall, my 2024 video reached over 4 million views. This led to collaborations with Caledonian Sleeper and Great Western Railway, where I’ve created further content highlighting journeys to Inverness, Cornwall, and their Pullman Dining service.
When I’m not doing any of the above, you’ll usually find me on a train, walking, reading, obsessing over films, TV and theatre, or posting to my Instagram Stories. Sometimes all at once.
